Hyundai Genesis Coupe short shifter now available!

TWM Performance is very happy to introduce our brand new short shifter for the 2010 Genesis Coupe, the first and only short shifter on the market for the new Hyundai Coupe! Once again, we worked hard to deliver quality parts for a new sport compact model.

The specs of this new short shifter are as follow:

-35% throw reduction
-1.6” height reduction
-Ball bearings and stainless steel bushings at lower pivot point
-CNC machined of high strength steel
-Unique vibration dampening design

How hard is it to install

It's not very hard, but it's a lot better if you have access to a lift. The longest part of the install is to actually lift the car and to unbolt the heat shield protector to access the stock shifter from under the car.

It will be a while. Their Evo X shifter is 179 and that looks like they have to do more work to make it

Short shifters for RWD cars (and I mean real short shifters) have always been and will always be more expensive than short shifters for a FWD car with shifter cables for some very good reasons.

The shifter in the Genesis is directly connected to a rod that goes directly in the transmission. There are a lot of vibrations going directly in the shifter. If you were to install a short shifter without any kind of vibration dampening system, those vibrations would be directly transmitted in your shifter.

The dampening part of the shifter is expensive and required a lot of R&D. It's expensive to machine and to properly assemble. Look at any (real) short shifter for a Nissan 350Z or Honda S2000 (which are very similar to the Coupe), they all range in prices more expensive than what we offer the Genesis Coupe short shifter for. And please, do not refer to Ebay copies with a bolt attaching the top part of the shifter to the bottom part. This principle completely defeats the purpose of a vibration dampening system.

I hope this help to understand the price of a quality part that underwent extensive R&D and testing.
