    Default Tanabe lowering springs

Almost forgot I had these until Casey reminded me.. lol

I originally bought these from a member on another forum, as part of a set he wouldn't split up.
The set was rear sway bar and for springs, but I don't want to lower my car, so these need a loving home.

I'moon my phone right now so I don't have access to all of the specs, but if there is interest I will dig it up tomorrow when I go back to work.
These are a prototype version obviously, since tanabe hasn't released them yet, and I think its about a 1-1.5in drop, more in the front than rear for a nice rake.
They are slightly used, but not by me, so I can only suggest you try to dig up some reviews if you are interested, though I was told the ride is not bouncy at all, but a bit more cushion over bumps than stock, so good for a daily driver.

The one thing I am obligated to add is that these DO NOT come with replacement bumpstops, and I'm told you will have to cut your factory ones for a proper installation.
I emailed Tanabe about this and they told me that they ALWAYS recommend cutting of the factory bumpstops, and that all of their production lowering springs include instructions on how to do this.
But, since these are prototype, they do not have instructions, nor would they advise me on how much needed to be cut, since without doing the install themselves, they have no way to determine proper length.

I asked around on the forum I purchased from and got recommendations of trimming 15mm to 50% off of the factory bumpstops, so my best advice is to find someone who is experienced with this type of work to do your install.

That being said, I'm a total noob and with a bit of research I actually feel comfortable enough to do this on my own now, I just don't want my car lowered because my driveway is so steep I can scrape at stock height. Lol.

If anyone has questions or extra info to add, feel free to post up.

Thanks Casey, are you interested in these? I can sell much cheaper than you'll find new Eibachs for.
And iirc the tanabes are like 400 new

Since these are prototypes you wouldn't happen to know what the spring rates on these are would you?

Check out the Tanabe site. I think they are like 0.9" F and 1.0" rear. They are supposed to be like 25% stiffer though for better handling. Just check their site for full details.

Sathaein, I am not looking for Tanabe springs really....I think maybe Eibachs.

In past experiences I have found that pre productions have been too soft or too stiff and not to production specs.

The other member I bought them off of said that the ride was pretty good, about the same as eibachs, but I couldn't say anything for sure..

Are spring rates stamped on the spring itself? I could open the box and take a look, if so.
