I hope I can have a similar experiance. I just bought my base 3.8 and then I found out about the 3.8 rspec. So I hope when they start to hit the showrooms I hope I can trade up.
I fell in love with the Genesis Coupe the first time I laid eyes on it in the showroom of our local dealership. In August of last year, my wife and I drove home with a Tsukuba Red 2.0T, and spent the next year rediscovering the fun of driving! That car and us, we thought we'd never part...
Until Last month...
Late one night in July my wife and I were cruising along the frontage road in front of the same local dealership from which we purchased our Red 2.0 when we caught a glimpse of shiny yellow inside the showroom. We turned around and in a moment found ourselves staring through glass at a gorgeous Interlagos Yellow 3.8 Track. I looked at my wife, who gave me a smile and a look that said "go ahead"...
The next day was a bittersweet one as we detailed our 2.0 and brought it to the dealership for the trade. The deal went quick, and as we prepared to leave the showroom in our new Full-Blown 3.8 (Nav. and everything), we were hopeful that the next owners of our beloved red one would have as much fun with it as we had!
A couple of days later when I returned to the dealership for my delivery detail the red one was on the showroom floor where the Yellow one had been...
I hope I can have a similar experiance. I just bought my base 3.8 and then I found out about the 3.8 rspec. So I hope when they start to hit the showrooms I hope I can trade up.
Congrats on your second GC and welcome!

Very nice story! Glad you went for the fully loaded 3.8. That's what this car is really all about. My wife has the 2.0T and I've got the 3.8 and I'll have to say that mine just feels a lot more like a "sports coupe".
How long did you have the 2.0 before trading it toward the new vehicle? How did the financing work out? Did they pay off the 2.0? I'm trying to talk her into trading into a new Sonata or Tuscon![]()

Thanks for the welcome! Well, to answer rpeeljoe first- I'm gonna have to go light on the modifications for now since I still have to drop some cash on a vehicle for the beach...
As for our deal on the trade-up- We had the 2.0 for about eleven months and traded it in with just over 12k miles on it; the combination of trade-in value and a discount they offered on the 3.8 left us almost even on the deal ( in other words, we got into the full-blown 3.8 in our favorite color for an extra $130 monthly payment).
Oh, btw- the current dealership incentive on most 2010 Coupes is $1500, and if you trade in a Hyundai, ask about another $1500 loyalty discount...
And one more thing- go join your credit union before you visit the dealership... you'll thank yourself for it later!
( Can you tell that I used to sell new cars for a living??)
