Default Hours Away From New GC

    Hi all,

Excitedly, I'm only hours from being a new GC Track owner. I only have to say "go" to the dealer.

Just a few questions...Is there much difference in performance between the AT and MT. I test drove both and they did seem similar. I noticed just a slight lag on changing gears on the AT version with the paddles. It also seemed more torque was available in the MT or was it just my imagination?

Congratulations on your purchase!(or soon to be)

Acceleration numbers support that there is little to no difference between the AT and MT transmissions, however, AT transmissions generally don't support the same level of power increase as a MT transmission does. If you have super modding planned, I'd suggest the MT. A lady on the site named Captive really enjoys her AT and hasn't stated any complaints. The AT electronically shifts so you might notice a slight delay, but there might be a TSB out for that.

Good luck with your purchase and post up pics and what you chose when you buy!

Congrats!! Hopefully the deal works out for you!

It all comes down the preference. Is this going to be your daily driver? Do you live in a big city with a lot of traffic? If, so, then the Auto might be better. You still get to shift it when you feel like it, but don't have to worry about the 1st, 2nd stop, 1st 2nd, stop thing when you hit traffic. Thats what I did. I live in Jacksonville, FL. Biggest city in the U.S area wise, and we do have a lot of traffic at certain times of the day. My loaner Gen was a 3.8 Track with a MT. I loved it, but it got old quick in traffic. So I chose a 3.8 AT, and I'm very happy with it. I've heard some people say the Auto is faster than the Manual, I don't know how true that is tho.

You, just have to to decided which one you can live with.

stats that i've read elsewhere say that there's a weight difference between AT and MT because the planetary gears inside the AT will obviously increase the weight. *can post the link, but it's in a foreign language*
but for daily driving, the car's power is more than sufficient and the 49kg is basically neglegible so congrats on your purchase! =)
    I can't wait to get mine....still waiting..=/
