Default Forge Genesis Coupe Development Blog

So, I wasn't really sure which section was the best location for this, but I figured this was as good a place as any to keep you all up to date on what we're working on.

We really want to attack the Genesis Coupe platform from a development standpoint, as a brand new application that we can offer a wide range of competitive products for.

Here's an initial list of what we have planned for the 2.0T:

    - Blow-Off Valve
    - Recirculating valve
    - Valve Block-Off Plate / Valve Relocation Kit
    - Boost Controller
    - Wastegate Actuator
    - Intake
    - Front Mount Intercooler and Piping Kit
    - Coolant Hoses
    - Replacement Intercooler Hoses
    - Catch Tank Kit

    For the 3.8 V6:

    - Intake
    - Catch Tank Kit
    - Coolant Hoses

.....and hopefully much more as time goes on.

You've all probably seen our Wastegate Actuator already:

As well as our Blow-Off Valve:

Our first prototype of our front mount intercooler and piping setup is at our facility in the UK right now being replicated for a final test fitment before production.

It will utilize a 20x7x3 tube and fin core that will be 400+ hp capable. It will have fully mandrel bent aluminum tubing and full silicone couplers, and the whole kit will install with no permanent modifications being required. You will even be able to keep your front crash bar.

    More details pics soon.

For those that don't plan to upgrade to a front mount intercooler, prefering to keep the stock unit instead, we will also offer a replacement intercooler hose kit to cure the issue of expanding hoses under boost.

See this video for what I am refering to:

This occurrance can actually cause a noticeable loss of throttle response and even power under boost.

Replacing the hoses with stronger multi-layered silicone replacements can significantly improve throttle response and sometimes result in more power.

The port sticking off the side of the throttle body hose will serve as a location to mount an optional blow-off valve, if you prefer to have it located near the throttle body instead of at the turbo. This will be an extra cost option with the hose kit that will include the blanking plate for the turbo and a valve to mount on this hose, with all of the associated hardware.

Here is a comparison of our hoses to some other brands. Ours on the far right.

We already offer a valve block-off plate that is compatible with the 2.0T.

It's available on our site right now, but we will soon offer it wil a valve relocation option for use with the intercooler hose kit.

As an alternative option to offer alongside the vent-to-atmosphere blow-off valve, we will also soon be offering a recirculating valve option as well for those individuals who aren't interested in any sound.

This valve, just like the atmospheric version, will directly replace the stock valve on the compressor housing of the turbocharger.

It is also a piston based design, but it plumbs the discharged air back into the intake side of the system instead of venting it to the atmosphere. Because of this, it should be no louder than the OEM bypass valve.

The atmospheric version blocks off the center recirculation port and discharges the air through the peripheral discharge holes around the circumference of the valve body. The recirculating version is shorter in height because it does away with the peripheral discharge holes, and reopens the center recirculation port.

We are in the test stage of this currently and expect to release it in a few weeks priced similarly to the atmospheric version.

How much do you expect the new recirculating valve option to cost?

It should be $175 just like the atmospheric version.

The two most competitively priced options on the market.

    Wow!

    Mike,

Everything is looking really nice. The Front Mount is the perfect size and looks like a really solid construction. Also your hoses are much more impressive than the competition. I am looking forward to tracking your progress here on the thread

What colors will your hoses be available in? Anything, or just one color?
Also, approx pricing, and what size are they? 2.5 or 3in?
