I always loved hearing friend say like "Oh man they don't make cars like they used to. Those things were indestructable." This proves otherwise. Good find!
In celebration of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's 50th anniversary, a 1959 Chevrolet Bel-Air was crashed into a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. Visually demonstrating how far automobile safety has come in 50 years.
Who do you think wins?
YouTube - 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air Vs. 2009 Chevrolet Malibu IIHS Offset<--- video
The answer is shocking... According to safety engineers at the scene, the driver of the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu would have likely have suffered slight knee injury....
On the other hand...
The driver of the 1959 Chevrolet Bel-Air would have died instantly...
This just goes to show that Old Classic Metal cars arent always safe. There are those who will b!*** that a Bel-Air was destroyed in this test, go ahead. That 1959 Chevy was a beauty, horrible color though,....

Wow, that makes me feel pretty good! I'm personally driving a 2005 Chevy Malibu, so I can only assume that my car would act similarly to the 2009. Great video KennysGCoupe!
