Default Dealership Service Dept. Lies Exposed

Thought I'd get a thread going to discuss/identify any Hyundai dealerships, particularly their service departments, that succumb to dishonesty. Please don't post anything if you just think dishonesty has taken place, but have some credible evidence as to why you believe so.

If you have such an experience and want to share, please list the information that will help others be able to identify and avoid such places in the future (things like dealership name, location and name of the service manager will be helpful).

Some time ago I brought my Genesis Coupe into the Southwest Hyundai dealership service department, located in Albuquerque, NM, for it's first "free" oil change. About 6 months later I decided to change the oil myself since I had lost trust in their service department on a different occasion. Upon inspecting the plastic oil filter housing, I noticed that it had never once been removed. This can easily be determined by the absence of scuffing on the plastic 27mm nut. As soon as I removed the plastic nut, slight scuffing from the socket was immediately observed. The drained oil was very dark too, odd since I only put about 3,000 miles on the car within that 6 month period. Putting the two together, I'm confident that the oil, and certainly the oil filter, were never replaced. Where I'm from, both get replaced when the oil is changed. I plan to send the drained oil to Blackstone lab for analysis to check for metallic composition.

If they could lie about something as simple as oil, who knows what else they are capable of?

    Avoid them like the plague!...

Allstar Hyundai of Baton Rouge tried to screw my out of my trade in. AMAZINGLY, the price of my R spec was raised exactly 3 grand ( the credit of my trade in). Also, they wanted to charge me ANOTHER 3 grand for Nitrogen in the tires and an extra coat of the clear stuff. FYI, over 70% of the atmosphere we breath is Nitrogen. There was no extra layer of clear coat BUT there was a red mist that covered my car from overspray.

Hey! Wow this is insane that they CLAIM to have done service and clearly haven't. You should try to get your local news team to go pay them a visit or at least contact the BBB. Good luck!
