Source: BBC's Stig unmasked after legal battle - Newstalk ZBThe identity of Top Gear's mystery car driver "The Stig" has been revealed after the BBC lost a legal battle to keep his name secret.
It's Ben Collins, who began his racing career in 1994 and drove at Formula 3 level.
His identity was revealed after London's High Court refused to grant a temporary injunction preventing the revelation of his identity in Collins' upcoming autobiography.
Each episode of the cult show, which broadcasts around the world, sees The Stig whizzing around tracks in powerful cars with his features hidden.
The BBC had taken legal action claiming the Stig was bound by a confidentiality agreement and revealing who he is would spoil viewers' enjoyment.

I love the show and he's an amazing driver. Either way I'll happily tune in to see "The Stig" drive just about anything.
