    Default New Sonata competitor?

Was browsing around the web and found this:
Nissan's Infiniti debuts new G25 sedan - Drive On: A conversation about the cars and trucks we drive - USATODAY.com

A coupe version could be happening too.. which would also make it a direct competitor for the GC.

well for us Canadians it might be, a compariably equipped Sonata is $31,000 here, the G25 will go on sale for about 34-35,000

Decent looking and definitely a good business decision, but it's not nearly as nice looking as a GC, plus it's off by about 100bhp. Nicer interior though, plus brand factor, should do pretty well in the market, but I wouldn't buy one.

Does seems to be about equal to a Sonata though (based on canadian pricing) I thought they were more like 20k stateside? :/

I just tried to build one, and with every possible accesory on the hyundai website, Sonata comes out to 28.5K.
Can be had as low as 19k though.

The infinity starts at 30k and just goes up from there, so I wouldn't say direct competitor there either, but close.

I've actually been looking more at this.. and the Sonata fully loaded actually has more features than the G37 Journey, so unless the G25 offers some serious bang for buck, the Sonata offers much more. A fully loaded Sonata Limited is $27,000 US and a base G25 is about $31,000 US, so I guess it's really a question of do you prefer RWD and are willing to pay an extra $4k for that.

    That's a decent point.
Sonata is FWD, so they'll never really be competitors anyways.
