Thread: if you did not get the gen coupe or could switch what car would you get?

I haven't gotten a GC yet, but I plan on getting it very soon, as soon as I get the deal that I'm looking for. But I've gone through a bunch of different options:

I almost bought a Honda Accord Coupe 4 cyl EX-L back in June, so glad I didn't get that, but I was getting a good deal on it, but I guess something just didn't feel right about it.

I also test drove an Altima Coupe (4 cyl), because at that time I was looking for a 4 cyl car, but anyways the Altima Coupe was garbage, the 4 cyl at least, all show and no go, plus that horrid CVT engine.

Also looked at a 370Z, only had two seats so insurance would have been more $$.

Started looking at a dealer service loaner BMW 328i E90 because my mom had bought one a few months back and it was a year old with <10k miles for $12k off original sticker price, which is a killer deal, but considering it's a really common car I wasn't that into it, even though I LOVE bmw's.

Looked an 08 335i E92 CPO but got scared away because of the water pump issues I heard about with the N54, plus I went to a BMW autocross event and this guy was talking about how his N54 is a love hate relationship because when it works it's amazing, but it doesn't work a lot of the time and I wanted something reliable.

For a while I was set on a base 2.0T Genesis Coupe and then I decided that I wanted something a little bit better, so right now I'm shopping for a Genesis Coupe Grand Touring and it just seems like the best combination sport and a "grand tourer" for under $30k. Plus you get the brown leather interior, which is like a big deal for me, since I love unique interior colors (like Red and Brown). It's a flashy car and turns heads but isn't too...snobbish like the BMW E92.

Believe it or not, before the GC came along, my wife and I had decided on a Lotus Elise at some point in the future. After a few laps in our Interlagos Yellow 3.8 Track, affection for the Lotus has waned...

Although I love my GC. It could never replace a Lotus.

Don't get me wrong, I love that Lotus, but I'm not as anxious to get one... may still need one in the garage someday!

Well, I wasn't looking for a car when I got the GC.
I was actually buying my wife a new car & when she saw the GC she insisted on buying it for me.
I'm perfectly happy driving my clunker to work every day.

Before i got my GC (premium pack) , i had a 2009 lancer GT and was seriously considering the awd rallyart ,but the base model price was to high and getting the sun n sound package like i wanted, just drove the price over the top
But now that winter as shown it's ugly face ... that awd sure would be nice

I am going to list a few cars that I like right now but not 100% sure I would consider replacing the GC with them.

Subaru Impreza
Volkswagen GTI
Honda CR-Z
Mitsubishi Evo
Nissan Juke (don't hate! lol)

Eh theres a ton of cars out there that I like but I feel a really personal connection with my Genesis Coupe

mine was actually a pick between a used 350z, new fiesta or the genny

didn't know if i wanted to do used again

the closest Ford dealership was about an hour or 2 away since the one down the street are pieces of crap

i went to the hyundai dealership and got my new genny for a great price
