rice is a mod that has no function or just rediculously gaughty.....like those silly silly rear window louvers that are not real
Since this site has been accused of not being tuners but rather ricers' and following a comment made by rpeeljoe, I've started a thread on the classification of what mods are rice, and what mods are tuner.
Please keep in mind that this is an opinion thread, so no abuse.
I'll start with:
Glasspacks.. so rice. Put a real exhaust on your car.

Certified Hyundai Tech
NO PICS!! = FAIL!
So LED eyelids are rice
windshield washer fluid thrower ( sorry dont know the exact term) with led inside... so rice... and when they come with after market side marker that are always on... SO SO rice
Til the redline ;)
G) I have been to that other Gen. site once, and it reads like every one shits on eachother..
I just put what she like ON/IN dana's car.
rice or not, it's what she likes that counts,
2010 3.8GT 6 speed
nordschleife gray
rear spoiler , gun metal grille
full wing emblems
RWDcoupe.com decals and ghost eye lids
underbody lights (blue), DD stage 2 led (blue), FlyRyde blue and white angel eyes.
AEM intake
V.D.I.& FlyRyde vertical doors
Yeah, who cares what 'rice' is? If they think (is this from the 'other' site) we're just ricers...who cares. All I care is that I like anything I've done. I got a ton of crap over there when I asked about the LEDs in the air vents. Who cares...Ford sells that as an option in the 'stang. So is Ford run by ricers? Some people do some wacky things to their cars but whatever...its their money!

there is a difference between moding the car performance and/or visual wise and actually ricing, defined as "giving a car the false appearance as having high performance when it really isn't" <-Fit Sport~lol = =
prime example is those that put those new electric-powered thingys (dunno exact name) that makes your car sounds turbocharged.
i saw this corolla the other day with aftermarket rims yet the rear brakes are still drums. = =
ricing wise, i think i might have to go through that stage first when i get the car because I have to slowly earn my $$ to mod the car bit by bit. I really want to get things like HIDs, the DD stuff, etc first because the car can still run even without the performance upgrade, which constitues about 80-90% of the cost on my list. But like what Codefox said, it's their money. they can be a whole bunch of posers, but will still get roflstomped by minivans and SUVs ;p
Current Vehicle:
2003 Honda Odyssey
Genesis Coupe Purchase Status:
Unfortunately, functionality cannot meet up to expectation. Will be the next generation owner when major issues are fixed.
I don't actualy care what is rice or not, I just thought it should stay contained to one thread.
I haven't seen anyone on the site poser-up their GC cause frankly, I don't see the GC as a poser car.

rice?
tbh...I have always seen this site as a site where enthusiasts get together.
there is rice material on both sites and always will be.
its not all about the vendors......its about how we have fun with our genesis coupes.
If I wanted vendor sites....I would just go to their websites.
forums should be about the enthusiasts and people who enjoy their car.
(even if it is riced up)
