FOUND!!! pit bull pup...in my backyard...any takers?

Dog is responsible for 58% of the deaths in 5 years. I will actually agree with you that the dog's owners bear as much if not more responsibility than the dog. The problem is that while the dog can be trained to be relatively safe...if a pit bull decides to attack it is going to be a horrific event. In almost all cases far worse than any other dog. There's a reason there's so many deaths attributed to it. When it attacks...it finishes the job.

I hope that when I have kids that I am the best protector they can have. But clearly won't agree on this. BTW, I can absolutely guarantee that my fish will never attack anyone ;)

nope...we are in the works with a shelter in ft. peirce....and if they cant take him there is a local person here that foster her for awhile...but what i do know is that SHE cant be here anymore!! i'm sick of cleaning the poop!!! argh...haha

LOL! Yea I have to admit I have reservations about pit bulls and children but if it was a puppy I got just to be around Lindsey and I then I don't think it would be as big of a concern. I mean shit I remember being a little kid and getting bit on the corner of my eyelid by our little friggen jack russel terrier. All dogs can hurt young children but Pitt Bulls and other large breeds could likely destroy a youngin.

I don't think they're devil incarnate...however you seem to think that despite killing more people than all other dogs combined the breed is just as safe as any other.

I guess I'm more like the dog whisperer. I don't believe there are bad dogs just bad dog owners/trainers.

Believe what you want...but I would appreciate it if you don't insult me because a I feel a particular breed of dog is dangerous. I think I have every right to be wary of an animal that has contributed to 58% of the total human deaths by dog attacks over the past 5 years and about 50% over a 30 years period. That's a very substantial number. I'm a very scientific guy and I like hard numbers. And when my personal safety or the safety of those around me matters, I don't need to own an animal that has such a horrible track record. More power to you if you feel that you can properly train a dog like this and I believe that they can be trained. But it takes only one moment of control being lost (for whatever reason) for something horrible to happen.

Look for local rescues. They may take it since it's a puppy.

And for the record, I'm a vet tech. I've been bitten on my left thumb and scarred by a Golden, but NEVER have I ever been intimidated by a pit bull. Honestly, I can't stand little dogs. They have a shittier attitude than any bully breed I've had to work with.
