    D) i am a believer that everything in moderation is good for you. except of course processed foods. i make a real effort to make sure there is a healthy meal on the table every night and that the kids lunches are healthy. i buy very little processed foods, only pure fruit juices(no blends or cocktails, these contain ungodly amounts of sugar). i personally don't eat a lot of
bread, crackers, chips etc. my down fall is baked goods(cookies, brownies, cake etc) but i make them all myself so not as bad and i control what goes in.
i am a diabetic so i have to account for every carb i intake. i eat a low carb / high protien and fibre diet because that is the best route for me.

my grandfather and a close friend of mine are the same way, they can avoid insulin by diet control. It's good that you've taken that approach rather than letting your condition take control of your life.
I suffer from a form of siezures, and high protien is the only way I can avoid the complications of my condition.

Bobby, that article has too many problems with it even get into...but I will say: Fat is not waste. Fat is how the body stores energy. If it was waste we would eliminate it immediately like we do other waste products. Fat is a valuable thing that the body needs. Every nerve in your body is made up of mostly fatty compounds! But there are definitely many good things said in this thread. Eat right, live right...and you'll never regret it.

Going low carb/high protein/high fiber for sure has helped me keep some of the flab at bay.
(Several years ago my buddy started doing Atkins and I decided to follow loosely along.)
The lifestyle change stuck and I've managed to maintain a loss of a little over 30 pounds.
That and I'm am a poser vegetarian.
