I hope they don't go back, my brother is an E8 in the US army and he's been over there for almost 3 years. Wouldn't mind if he came home now.

Believe me i wish this was all over too i dont want more of our troops dying. it really sux. i really wish we weren't going at all. My best friend that a grew up with is joining the marines i hope he doesnt get shipped to Afghanistan when that time comes. I cant wait for the day comes that we are fully out of the middle east. but until that day comes we just have to pray for them. ill pray for your brother...

At least were out of Iraq though

Me personally i think hes doing a good job with it, im happy that he's not jumping into this and sending thousands of troops in without thinking about the consequences and lives of our soldiers. However i don't know if its right to set the date for returning our troops so quickly 18 months isn't a lot of time.. i think it would have been better to set that as a goal to get things done by then but i don't know if its realistic or not. What do you think? I know theirs a lot of people from the military here what do you think of this? And Do you think 30,000 troops is enough for us to win this war?

Well, I don't know what he is really thinking about,
but I know he didn't go to West Point and is shorting
the General he personally picked who did on his requests...
just so as to appease his "base"

I was in the Vietnam fiasco where the politicians overruled the generals
and look where that got us...

I am hoping for a better result here,
but I'm not real optomistic as history does tend to repeat itself..

if we had spend the time and resources that we did on the "needless war" in iraq this would have been wrapped up by now....not to mention the support of the rest of the world.

i'm glad that we are finally going to do as they asked....it sucks but we dont have any alteratives...if we leave they will just regroup and get stronger (but at the same time by being there we are creating a generation of western hating middle easterns and making reqruiting very easy for them.)

im a anarchist so i didnt even pay a lick of attention to obomas bull shit speech. nor did i care for GWB's bull shit when he tried to speak or whatever he called his speeches... no matter what the president is a politician, so they will lie, swindle, bullshit their way out of anything, and try to place blame on somebody else.... I respect our Men over seas for what they do for us, its just their leaders that suck huge nuts..
