Default To buy or not to buy?

A fellow here is selling his 69' Mach 1 Mustang, it's in rough but running shape. I'm looking at it as a project car and I want to fully restore everything except the engine, wanna throw in a Nismo RB26DETT instead. Any thoughts? Should I do it or focus on my coupe?

dude whats wrong with u lol this isnt tokyo drift here... the mach 1 mustang is a bad ass car with a badd as motor you can rebuild that car and make it whoop up any coupe on the street if you do it rite its a sexy bitch and if its a numbers matching car keep everything it will be worth a lot of money after you restore it!!! keep a muscle car engine inside a muscle car dont throw some riced out motor in it. how much does he want for it??? post some pics... i love the coupe but it can wait this car cant get it before somebody else does... or before i do lol

I don't know which engine it's got in it, the guy who owns it is gone on holidays till Friday so I have to wait for price and specs. I'm not tossing the current engine anyway, it'll get rebuilt proper, but I already have a v8 partially rebuilt in a garage.

You're right, it isn't Tokyo Drift, the Mach 1 is a badass car (hence I'm looking at getting it). I'm not getting it for drag, drift or track, it's for me. I don't want the massive v8 in it cause I don't want a massive v8.

Riced out motor? The RB26DETT has been around since 85' and can produce over 600bhp with stock internals. I can spend 6k rebuilding a block that'll dyno about 250 if I'm lucky, or I can spend 6k on an engine that'll dyno over 400.

Worth a lot? Who cares? I don't plan on selling it.

Mustangs are pony cars, not muscle cars. It's competitors were Camaro's, Challenger's and Firebirds.
Where as Ford's Muscle Car was the Torino, and it faced off against Chargers, Chevelle's and GTO's.
