Vent glows look nice, but only when they are subtle...

Might do one. They would come on only when the heater/AC was on....

I think it'd be cool to do them so they glow red when blowing hot air and blue when the A/C is on.

If anyone really wants this I can figure it out to make a little chip with a temperature sensor that will change between certain temps... Its completely possible for like 50 bucks...

Well I would use a micro controller with an analog sensor for the dimmer and tempurature sensor... You could make both fine tunable with a potentiometer... Then just use analog outs to control how bright the lights are and what color... It would probly cost around 30 bucks... I would locate the sensor in one of the senter vents. or maybe you can find out where all the air comes from (before it gets routed to what vent it comes out of) and hook the micro controller and sensor there then you just gotta run a wire to your LEDs. I could write up a schemetic with links to the products if someone interested... or if someone wants to shoot me 40 or 50 bucks I can attempt to assemble one and mail it out to them and they can install it...

The car should already have a temperature sensor. If not just use this one....

If everything goes right I'll do this mod later this year as time permits. Would basically be ambient lighting.

Its digital you done need to use digital for such a simple application... I was gonna use a thermistor which is a thing that increases its resistance as the temperature changes... So you run electricity in one side and see how strong it comes out the other... The stronger the colder it is... Plus using the internal temp sensor would be a pain because you wouldnt have any of the specs on it...
