Door panel mods

I've taken my door panel off (made a vid for those who wanna see, be up on youtube soon) so I could start some custom lighting mods... only problem is... I can't get the damn pull handle off. Anyone who's done this before know how to get the handle off so I can paint my little silver piece?

I'm trying to:
-white LED's to the bottom of the door so when it's opened it'll act as a puddle lamp
-pocket shines for the lower pockets
-maybe lights to highlight the grips

I wanted to paint the grips while I was at it.. but couldn't get them off without removing some plastic heat rivets.

I'm also adding cup holder lights to the center console, a light in the armrest box, and looking at adding footwell lights.

What about a light in the little red reflector that goes on when the door is open...

There isn't a whole lot of room there, but I'm going to see what I can do. I've ordered a whole shit load of LEDs and stuff from DD to get this done.

I wish I knew where to wire it in so i knew when the door was open or closed... I would have already done this since I was getting out on a busy road a little red light on my door would have made me safer... but ive moved since so dont have to worry anymore.

thats the problem I'm having.. the door trigger is in the B-pillar not the door.. and the only other source is the toggle switch for the Dome lamps at the moment... I've have it figured soon since my bulbs should arrive this week.

Umm only suggestion i have is a reed switch (a switch that is triggered when come in close proximity to a magnet). put one in the door and a megnet hidden on the other side of the door so when the door is opened the circuit is broken.

hmmm... thats an idea... only I'd need it to open the circuit when the door is opened so the puddle lamps come on.
