    Default Re-wrapping the steering wheel...

As we all know our steering wheel is alittle bit on uncomfortable side... I was thinking about having my steering wheel re wrapped with alittle bit better leather and padding. I was thinking a standard leather for the top and bottom and a padded perferated leather for the sides. Also I was thinking of having the stiching red to match my seats (I have a track).

Think it will look good? Anyone have an idea how much this would cost?.. I was think around 100...

Probably cost you more than 100$, they'll have to take your old piece off, then do their measurements and cuts. Leather isn't cheap. I've been looking into this too because I was in my buddies Audi A4 and loved the feel of that leather.

I read somewhere once that Hyundai is the master at making leather feel like plastic.

Yea... actualy the rest of the leather include the leather on the shifter in the car feel really nice the wheel sucks... I dont even want any really expensive leather... Plus leather is like 100 bucks for a pelt for medium quality stuff... So they might charge more for the craftman ship... My brother in laws father use to do car interiors I might ask him.

I am almost wondering if I can do myself if I could get leather... I could use the old peices for templates... and the stiching use is the same as that in a baseball which is simple. I deffinately wouldnt do it for over 200... I just find it really hard to get comfortable holding that whell....

Have you tried Wheelskins? They are very high quality and not that expensive. Don't know if there is anything specifically for the Coupe. I emailed my local dealer so should get some response soon.

I just talked to the dealer and he suggested doing to a custom one because of the lumps above the thumbs. They have some two tone ones but the red looks a bit darker than what is in the track.

I once had a quote to recover the alcantra wheel in my S-line Audi...... it was over $400. If you find a decent place, post up. I have the same complaint
