Default Putting Climate control in a non climate controled GC...

So I got the 2.0T Track and it comes with the standard heating and cooling system. Anyone think that if I can get the right parts I could install the better climate control system in it?

Short answer is Im trying to get the interior to that of a 3.8 Track which can have a navigation. I dont really like the poweraxel nav and the little screen while it does the job falls short on mp3 playing... I wouldnt mind the stock navi in my Track. I found it priced at 750 on a parts website... which is alot cheaper then an aftermarket navi. The issue is the navi expects the climate control system (this is why the 2.0T Track doesnt offer nav). Plus I wouldnt mind a set it and forget it climate control...

buy the aftermarket double din facia, and change it out. There is quite a bit of parts that are needed to upgrade both your head unit to navi and your climate control to auto, it's not a simple swap. I've looked into it because I wouldn't mind the auto climate, just couldn't afford/want a 3.8 which is the only Canadian Coupe to get auto climate.

Same here didnt want the 3.8 but would like a climate control and a color display... I know you do alot of reading of all the parts paper work... It is possible to do? Just might cost me like 1.2k??? Thats still cheaper then getting a non stock nav... I was thinking the aftermarket facia would fit the climate control... But im thinking I would need a few extra sensors (temperature and what not) to put in the climate control... You have any info on theses parts and a good idea where to get? Im kinda hoping someone parts out a wrecked 3.8 or something that might have a working navi still...

anything's possible, but yeah, you'll need loads of money. The dealerships are going to gouge the shit out of you for parts, and I don't know if you'll find an auto wreck that you can scavange all the parts off of just because of how new these cars are. Just the sensors needed are several air mix sensors, evaporator sensors, direction potentiometers, in car temperature sensors. You'll need to replace your IDD (little blue screen) because the Nav uses a different one, by changing that screen you'll need to get a new upper housing as well. The roof antenna is GPS + SDARS compliant so you won't need to change that, it's ready for the nav. Your ECU or BCM might need to be updated/modified to support the changes, but I haven't found any differences between any models for those pieces. The US spec BCM has support for front window de-icer, but no US spec coupe has a front window de-icer.. so I'm not sure how it's modified for different regions.

I hope this helps you, check out the HMAService site for more specific how to's and part listings. You might be able to pick up new parts cheaper from some of those online Hyundai parts sites, used to buy Fusion parts from ford equivilants with no problems.

Thanks a bunch snoop... See I was concerned about having to replace the antenna for the GPS antenna but thats helps... Im gonnna go around the HMAService site see if I can get the model numbers for everything needed and check the other part sites see if they have them. I also have an post up on the WTB section of gencoupe seeing if anyone is selling a nav unit or wants to swap the nav for a standard unit and gain some cash...

ya know... you could probably contact one of those race teams like Rhys Millen and see if they took any of those parts out and if you could buy them off them.
