Yea got tired of that to and quickly may I add! I've gotten used to using the console shifter instead.
Unless im going straight or my hands can twist like noodles, the paddle shifters are worthless!! dunno why Hyundai didnt keep them in one spot on the steering column, and instead mounted them to the wheel. Coming out of turns i have to hunt for the right paddle whilst its turning.

Should'a got the MT. ;)
That'll learn ya. ;)
ha well, i dont mind the console shifter, its pretty quick imo if you can time the shift points well
correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the gearbox upshift for you and it won't hold at high rpm?

2003 Honda Odyssey
Genesis Coupe Purchase Status:
Unfortunately, functionality cannot meet up to expectation. Will be the next generation owner when major issues are fixed.
it will hold at high rpms, but if you stay in the reds for too long it will upshift. does anyone know if taking the stability control off would change how the car shifts at the higher rpms? im a little hesitant to drive with it off on public roads after losing control a couple times haha
My only gripe is the lack of responsiveness when using the manumatic. I wonder if it's possible now or in the future to allow quicker shifts and more responsive downshifts. I think the zf manu-matic far more cautious than it needs to be.
Although the one in my Audi wasn't perfect, it was still more responsive than the one in my genesis, so I'm sure it's possible to get more out of it.

For me it seems fairly responsive unless you try to shift at an unusual rpm. At least this is what I've noticed. As for a faster shifting transmission, and correct me if I'm wrong, a good dual clutch sequential transmission would be the fastest (do they have these in any car yet?).
I've never driven a dual clutch, but I test drove the Fiat Abarth 500c with a sequential manual transmission, and I liked it a lot better than the GC's "manumatic". It also had paddle shifters only larger and much nicer. the drawback was that you absolutely had to use the paddles as it didn't have a stick, only buttons xD. Amazingly fun car to drive.
I don't know if it would be better to have the paddles not move with the steering wheel. unless it was designed very well. I hear many Mitsubishi Evo X owners complain that they hit the paddles by accident sometimes when turning. I guess this would apply to our friends out there with big hands, so guess it's personal preference.
If it ain't got a clutch....it ain't a manual.
i agree...they are useless....and they are slow to respond. i could not stand how slow it responded. I would never buy an auto anyway...so it really doesnt matter to me.
