Works Bell -- USA | Column Shifter

    See this link above...
    This is a $400 F! Paddle shift kit for a G35/350z. The Z33/V35 didn't have paddle-shift.
The Genesis coupe got the crappiest looking paddle-shift of any paddle-shift in the history of paddle-shifting.
If there's a market for new paddles and replacement paddles in other cars. There's a market here. The only way there's no market for improving or customizing is when the owners are cheap asses and show no interest in spending some money to make there cars there own.
Works bell make some really nice shifters. Maybe if we come together as a forum and request higher quality paddle shifters we will see it?
And maybe we need to come together and have sparco or momo come together and create a new steering wheel that will be flat-bottomed, with steering controls and airbag with a space for the wing emblem. Or devise such a kit. If we all don't look for the hot lookin shit. We gonna be the ricer-tune crew in the tuning world. I can stay chillin in my G37. But I don't want that. I wanna tune a Gen. But let's get together n bully the aftermarket n invest our money in unique and necessary appearance upgrades. The Z won't have the flat bottom steering upgrade... we would. Our paddle shifters would match such a hot upgrade n not have the hot steering wheel with the utterly ridiculous hyundai paddle shift. So come on forum. Let's start posting some threads... get a high volume of members to want these mods and then pull the vendors in for a lil R&D. We gotta think positive dudes....

thats a great find! And you're absolutely right, if we don't let developers know what we want, we won't get it.
So with that said, I e-mailed Works Bell and stated the case of all Flappy-Paddle Gearbox owners of the GC. We'll see what happens from there.

I suppose the stock wheel could be turned upside down and then modified to retail all functionality, lettering on the buttons would be hard to read though.

Other than that I really don't see hoe a 'kit' would even be possible, even with major manufacturers invloved.
A replacement could be down, which incorporated the buttons in alternate locations though.

I wrote a letter to works bell as well. Hopefully we can solve the crappy paddle-shift issue. Now I gotta find someone willing to R&D either a kit or a new steering wheel with compatabililty to the genny's controls and airbag. That flat bottom looked so hot in the photoshop that I gotta try to push it.

that there would have to be a full on replacement. because the bezel is also modified. The airbag and buttons would be from your own wheel to save costs but the bezel and wheel would have to be fabbed.

best thing would be is if they offered different coloured stiching, like try and colour match the car. (and obviously offer purple :P)

that does look sexy, the red should be black in my opinion, but that red would look cool with the track seats and interior pieces. you should ask KAI who makes the cf replacement steering wheel, and see if they would make something like that. You should also post your idea on GC.com i think with alot of vendor activity you prolly can get your idea to fall on some interested ears.

^The KAI version is just a replacement for the bezel overlay.
But they may be willing to go further with it. =)
