Good find. $1400 with shipping seems entirely reasonable (I guess?) for an LSD. I really think that Hyundai's only real miss was not putting an LSD on all of the trim levels.
Found this on another forum, thought i'd share.

Own:
2008 Elantra HD, carbon grey, K&N, rims (sold)
2002 WRB Impreza WRX, its pretty damn fast and thats all i have to say about that...
own in future:
2014 Genesis Coupe spec-V..yeah it will be a V8.... or V10....
I figured I'd just go to Hyundai and order an OEM one, can't be too expensive eh?

Quote:
"A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in angular velocity of the output shafts, but imposes a mechanical bound on the disparity. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity."
basically its a fancy way of enabling your tires to spin individually like a convensional differencial but with the added bonus of each tire in certain cases having it's "own" amount of the tractional torque. Driving down the road and one of your wheels slips, a LSD lets that wheel slip and gives tractional effort to the non slipping wheel. Traditional differencial lets the wheel slip but gives no additional tractional torque to the gripped wheel.
that a good explaination?
