Yea a bit of my dream car too... Im still debating it... Though the 4 seats is a plus for sure. I might save the lotus as a midlife crysis car in like 20 years. Its so verty tempting. Plus im kinda warry why its so cheap (might just be cuz its in NJ and they cant get rid of it) do area code 08093 in autotrader.com and search the lotus. Amazing price but also I want to do alot of work on the hyundai which a lotus its pretty much all done for you...

right now my genesis has a weight balance of 45/55. I think the mid eng. will be tank to control.

Oh man I'd really love Hyundai do do this kind of car. Having the engine right behind you has to give the car a really great feel! Bet it sounds beast too

I dont think that they would be able to put it out for that kinda coin. Mustangs are a dime a dozen cars, conventional platform. They sell a kajillion of them and could spread down the cost, where as the Genny is still what most manufactureres would call a limited production. Factor in that it would take a totaly seperate line to do these as opposed to the conventional Genny and I think that the absolute base would be around the $40 -$45,000.00, which in my eyes is still cheep when you consider that Hyundai would still follow their formula of a great product at a reasonable price.

I would imagine this platform would start with about 400 - 450hp, and a midengine to boot...I dont think you can get anything in this configuration/quality for less, but Im not sure havent really checked.

The msrp of 2010 V8 coupes i assume would be challenging a V8 gencoupe would be:
    Camaro 6.2L 426hp - 31.5k
    Mustang 4.6L 315hp - 28.8k
    Challenger 5.7L 372hp - 31.5k
So since Hyundai pricing is more bang for the buck I assume a good pricing point would be about 30k?

If you gonna compete with midengine V8s like Ferraris then price I'd assume would be more altho it is a Hyundai and not Ferrari. But whats the point of midenigne anyways? Even with front mounted V8 the more exotic/pricy cars are:
    Corvette 6.2L 430hp - 49.8k
    S5 4.2L 354hp - 54.5k
    650i Coupe 4.8L 360hp - 79k
    CL550 5.5L 382hp - 110k
    CLK550 5.5L 382hp - 58.6k
    E550 5.5L 382hp - 55.5k
    SLK55 5.5L 355hp - 67.5k
    SL550 5.5L 382hp - 100.6k
    SLR McLaren 5.5L 617hp - 500.7k
    F430 Scuderia 510hp - up the butt
Ferrari California 4.3L 490hp - up the butt
    Ferrari 458 570hp - up the butt
