we are having a chat tomorrow over at hyundai think tank....if it only came with cruise control i would be all over it!![]()
Details on the Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec have surfaced ahead of the Chicago Auto Show reveal and they describe a slimmed down, bare knuckle brawler ready for the race track.
The Genesis Coupe R-Spec begins with the 210 HP turbocharged inline four and then and chops the weight down. Convenience gadgets like Bluetooth, automatic headlights, cruise control, trip computer, chrome interior accents and steering wheel audio controls have been chopped in the interest of weight saving and cost reduction. Those cuts are augmented with performance goodies like bigger Brembo brakes, a retuned suspension, a quicker steering ratio and 19 inch wheels wear what we understand to be far more aggressive tires. Bottom line price $23,750. We'll be bringing you all the details from the live reveal only hours away here at the Chicago Auto Show. [PopMech]

Is cruise control important to you? I honestly find driving with Cruise control a little uncomfortable haha.

It's either this or the track 4 me. I would like to have the rspec bc of the better performance. Since I dont want the two tone interior I will prolly go for the rspec
Own:
2008 Elantra HD, carbon grey, K&N, rims (sold)
2002 WRB Impreza WRX, its pretty damn fast and thats all i have to say about that...
own in future:
2014 Genesis Coupe spec-V..yeah it will be a V8.... or V10....
Also I just noticed in that picture. The fog light surrounds are actualy vented and not solid plastic. Is this just that pic or is that on the rspec? Also why no spoiler on the rspec? Are these at dealerships now?
no spoiler...cutting cost.....the track edition actually has a 3rd light in the wing and NOT on the window...so you will be able to tell who just "added" the wing...because they will have two third brake lights.
also i hope that it doesnt come with those wheels...they are fugly!
i kinda like the two tone interior...i just wish we had more options like the koreans do....but owel.

They are gonna give us a little now and a little later.....sucks that the kareans have all the options. And i would get it even with the ugly rims.
Blue 2.0t Reaper Racing: 3" turbo back exhaust, cold side piping, intake, Waste Gate Actuator, Block off plate and Forge BOV. 231whp
As Ive mentioned before, why the hell doest Hyundai actually think before they offer something like this. The Rspec should be running the most power available, instead of just looking to make an "affordable" starting point for racers. If this was running a very high performance I4 (300 - 350 HP) or even the stock V6 it would make more sense and it would only add a coupla 3 grand more, at least Im thinking thats the average upgrade cost to a V6? not sure tho. and make it a true starter, get rid of Interior parts like sterio, back seats, leather. I guess I miss the days when you could factory order cars with radio and heater deleat.
