Thread: Adding subwoofer to 2.0 premium with pics

Adding a Subwoofer to genesis coupe.Hey if any one wants to add a subwofer to a coupe with premium package it is relitivly easy.No holes have to be drilled to bring power supply cable through.Remove battery remove tray follow main battery lead to inside car.open plastic shielding carefilly unfortunatly they glue it together but it can be opeend up with some finese.The tabs may break but it will snap together.Run cable I used 4 gauge cable and should be enough for most applications.Run cable through boot into car behind heater box going torward the pass. side kick panel. Remove kick panel rocker panel cover lower quarter panel trim panel upper trim panel where seat belt goes through,and upper rear trim panel between rear shelf and headliner. open up factory harness mounted ties to there last notch and begin feeding cable through run up to rear seat area r/r has a spot where the seat relese cable goes through and has a grey soft foam (PLUG) poke a hole through and feed the cable through. remove rear shelf panel unplug rear brake light connector and subwoffer connector.One the panel is out of the way remove factory sub woofer (you will need to have an air port to vent bass from trunk) Look at both sets of wires on sub notice there are two pairs(factory has a dual voice coil sub) so I fed both to 2 single 2 channel amps run in mono mode for both coils in my solo baric 12 inch with enclosure(BTW this would be the third vehicle that this sub has been in talk about usability!) ironicly the amps I had were JBL GTS series amps and notice the factory JBL unit in car SWEET! anyway put everthing back together and wire up the system thats it any questions feel free to contact me. chris....
