Default Review: ImportShark Gauge Pod w/Video

So today I decided to do up a video of the gauge pod for the GC that I got from ImportShark. Now this is the second one I've gotten because of fitment issues with the first. Bought first in December, got it in January, got RMA in March and now got second pod... waaay too long to get no where imo.

I've been doing some looking around and apparently loads of people have had fitment issues with ImportShark stuff... I don't want to hurt anyone but this is going to be (missed two shows because of this) a show car in the area as well as a sponsered ride.

so I sent a link to ImportShark and got a response today, here's what they've got to say:

The screw on mine literally went straight in--which is also what was
reported by a couple other customers as well. As I suspected, there may
be some very slight spec which is out of whack in your pillar. Not sure
how that can be possible, but could be associated with manufacture date or
something. Either way, to have the screw pointing straight in, why not
drill another hole and then mold over the old one with a bit of fiberglass
filler? This is an extremely elementary mod to remedy the quirk that's
    going on there.

The top of the pillar is going to be a hair short if you're comparing it
to the OEM one, but that's really the case with 99.999% of aftermarket
pillars out there. It does look like this one is a touch longer than the
previous one, but it does have an overlap on the headliner there.
I can understand some level of frustration on his end.. but.. am I out of line by wanting a direct replacement like advertised? Doesn't direct replacement mean that it's ready to be used not ready after modding it? The pillar in the website pictures looks like its a very clean snug fit that has proper overlap... yet I keep getting 1/4 inch under.

    quote from ImportShark's site:

Attaches to stock location as a direct replacement for OEM pillar
    importshark.com

I don't want people to stop buying things from them, but I'd really like to just get what I paid for. Since I dished out 140$ USD plus shipping, plus return shipping on a product that wasn't very good.. to me, to not get it right the second time and then suggest to mod a mod to make it work... I dunno...

Yeah but you know anywhere else to get a pillar pod? The one from KAI is made by the same guys.

My friend has CF pillar pods and said they fit great. Let me talk with him and see where he got them because I forgot.

Friend purchased the RRM/Carbontrix CF A-Pillars. RRM/Carbontrix CF A-Pillars [RRM/Carbontrix CF A-Pillars] - $239.00 : Road Race Motorsports -, Your home for Lancer, SX4, Genesis and many more

Did look at the pics on the website and fitment doesn't seem 100% but looks a little better than ImportSharks.

That's an overlay not a replacement. I don't wanna drill holes in my OEM pillar because if I sell the car I want my guages.
Gawd I just wanted this to fucking work right... Sorry I'm gonna clear my head for a moment...

Why the fuck would you sell somehing that has to be modded to fucking work right??? I fucking paid to paint the first one because I assumed I was getting what was advertised which was a fucking direct replacement!! Now I have to pay to paint the new one as well as paint my oem just to have it match while I was showing products off to customers so I kept my professional appearance. I'm not some 17 year old asshat kid trying to supe up his car with his daddys credit card, I work two fucking jobs, one as a mechanic/electrician and another for myself, a business I started from the ground up! And I still get fucking treated like a god damn idiot with stupid fucking comments from a sales guy telling me I'm obviously not installing it right. Everyone else gets to tell vendors to fuck off on this site well here's mine! Fuck you importshark! Stand by your products or don't fucking sell them!

Sorry... That's been building for months now
