Ok, I am crossing my fingers. Here is my entry. You said you like the sharkfinned triangle so I chose to use that but added some waves and a small tint of blood red. This gives a sense of speed and the sharks inherent ferociousness. It also uses the same size as the original to help ease the integration on your site.
...I feel as though sometimes there's nothing better than to just update to a classic. Obviously I have the PSD for this image and if it were to win I would remove the "Gen-Jim" watermarks as well as any other modifications you may want done.
