Official Guide to Window Tint Laws by State
I have decided to make a new thread dedicated to window tint. Seems everyone is asking "Whats the window tint laws in my state?" or "How dark can I go?". This thread will minimize useless threads and help to keep the server moving smoothly. Below is a list of tint laws for all 50 States. These laws may not be current and are often enforced differently by different PD's. In all cases, refer to your local authority for enforcement policies, current laws, rules or regulations. Your current state law is the final authority, not this thread. The numbers represent the percentage of light transmitted through the tinted glass, so the lower the number, the darker the film allowed. Generally the films are sold as 5%(limo), 20%(dark), 35%(medium), 50%(light).

Make sure the when you are getting your windows tinted you get new pro window tint installed by a licensed installer. As extra auto insurance many vendors such as the one I went to for my Hyundai Genesis Coupe in Florida were certified by Llumar window tint and provided me with a lifetime warranty.
