Lol please elaborate? Is it the 6.1 MPG? Not quite seeing it....
Also WTFsauce for $50k mustang. Get the Genesis Coupe for around $28k and put $10k in on a sick amount of mods and you've got a straight up mustang murderer for $12k less.
So…after the BMW 335i fiasco I started to cross-shop the Ford Mustang GT (4.6L V8).
The 2009 Models (Yahoo.com Auto) appears to show low resell, which might also predict what may happen to the Genesis Coupe. We will see next year.
2009 FORD Mustang GT MSRP $27,210 – Used Price - $16,999
The only difference I see between the 2009 Ford GT and 2010 Ford GT is a few hundred increase in price and 15 HP increase in power.
But….the dealers here, for some reason are attempting to sell the 2010 models at ……over $50,000 (MSRP $27,995)
Anyway….I was checking on a couple of slightly used (dealer demo) 2010 Ford Mustang ($50,710) when I noticed….something very unusual...and a bit disturbing.

What the "ROUSH" as in ROUSH Performance Products or Roush racing?
The GTs don't come standard with that gage?
Either way, at 6 MPG, it indicates that the mileage isn't anywhere advertized or people have been really abusing the car over the last couple hundred miles. And they want how much?

Pretty sure the Roush name on the tach explains the cost and mpg. The local dealership has several of these on their lot. They look nice, but damn they are expensive.
Those resale values will not happen anytime soon to the Genesis. The reason the 09 Mustangs are so low is because of the '10 re-design.
as an ex-Ford salesman I think I can explain a few things. First the price: any dealership at any time can sell a vehicle for however much money they want. If you look around on the internet to find out about the last generation Thunderbird, you'll see that other than poor performance what killed it was most dealerships were charging well above MSRP, which unfortunately is their right. That particular Mustang GT pictured above is a Roush 427R order package that out the door is $43k USD (including the base Mustang GT), so seeing that a dealership is asking $50K for it is what they tend to do.
Second I'll explain the fuel economy: Ford's computers in their vehicles are VERY bad at MPG calculations until after appx. 800 miles, after which they are only calculating the past 80 miles for their MPG calculations, so after one afternoon of "loads of fun" your MPG will read very low. It is important to note that the 2010 Roush actually gets better gas milage than a stock mustang GT to the point where that particular package gets rid of the "gas guzzler" tax when buying it. All while producing 435hp and 400lb-ft and reducing emmisions.
Lastly "Would I buy one?": short answer = no. The 4.6L engine is an old engine with old technology. Ford's enthusiast mindset for aftermarket and easy to work on philosophy is their hang-up causing poor performance per liter and poor fuel economy. I could go on and on about what they should change in their blocks and respectively how much they would gain from it but it's a moot point because they won't change it, just throw a 3.5L TwinTurbo in it for next year. I would as Casey pointed out buy a 3.8L Genesis, because with stock internals and just a ECU flash, some timing mods and a turbo, RMR thumps out a whooping 550bhp and 525lb-ft. Thats Shelby GT power for well under $50k and 400lbs lighter.
