Default Purchasing a CG next month...have a question

I will be getting a CG next month and I'm looking for some advice. I will be trading in my 07 Altima 2.5 for a 3.8 if I can swing the payments. If not I will probably go for the 2.0t premium. My question is, in your opinion, would I be downgrading, keeping the same, or would I feel a boost on performance going from an Altima 2.5 to a 2.0t premium. The only mod I had on the Altima was a Fujita WAI. Any help would be great

Based on previously driving both the Altima 2.5 and the Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo I would say that you would only notice a slight difference in the performance due to the turbo charger. You will get more of a punch when the turbo kicks in rather than a gradual power increase as seen on the Altima 2.5. I would recommend highly the Genesis Coupe 3.8 judging by your previous history of mods with the Altima. The 3.8 packs a really great punch in stock form and with just a couple of bolt ons it is a great and powerful daily driver. If you wanted to get really crazy with mods and void your warranty you can push the 2.0 turbo to some high numbers but obviously that's a bit more complicated.

Ok so I have officially started shopping around. My wife is trying to keep my spending at bay so I have also looked at used GC's. I found a 2010 3.8 track with 27k miles for 22,922. It looks incredible in the photos and it even had a few enhancments (Tint, wing emblem badges). In everyone's opinion, does it sound like a good deal with that amout of mileage?

I also found a brand new 2010 3.8 base with 7 miles on it for 27,000 (Which i am hoping to talk down to 22-23k since its a leftover)

    Any thoughts, advice?

I'd buy the used Track. The base doesn't get the LSD or Brembo's and 27k miles really isn't that many in the long term of things.

I would also deffinately go for the 3.8 Track. It is an all around better car (best of all available models) and for $22kish that's pretty awesome. Might be able to haggle down a bit too

    I'd buy the track, too.

I dont know as much (wish I did) as these "genesis legends" (makes 'em sound old, doesn' it?) ;), but...I have been shopping around and test driving for almost a year now (hence the beloved term "newbie"). I agree - the track is the best model - $22K is a good price if its in excellent condidtion.

My '11 GC track arrives next week and my only regret is that I didn't decide sooner.

So finially after a bit more waiting (home loan mod with the bank kept me from buying a month ago) I will be picking up my CG on Friday!! (as long as everything works out) I ended up with a 2010 base 3.8 in black with a spoiler and tint for 23 OTD (14k miles). Friday afternoon im putting my system I took out of my Altima into the CG so I should be content for a while until the mod bug hits me! Hope to see some of you from the forum in the Orlando area on the road!!

Congrats should be a fun car. I drove the 3.8 track it had a lot more power than the 2.0T, but being it was going to be a 3rd car and did not care too much about warrante I got the Rspec 2.0T. So far only an intake and a inexpensive BOV. going after the CMD tuner next and an exhaust to finish up this year. Next year som bigger plans...

Again congrats and enjoy she should be a super fun car.
