Default Cold weather = awesome gas range

I live in Florida which is usually hot, humid and hot Well my gas milage range when I fill up usually say 250, but I usully got about 300 mpg. So today on this cold 49 dergee weather I filled up and my range went up to 385mpg!!!! Can't wait to see how far this cold weather gives me. Question to thoses with an intercooler, Hows your gas milage before and after Will it cool enough to see a difference?

Cold weather does not have an affect on your gas mileage from from the perspective of your range guage. In cold weather there is less vaporization of gas when you fill up. You get more gas during your fill up, therefore your range increases.

yeah my bad typo, miles per tank. Not mpg that would be awesome though Red, yes its a 2.0. Thatguy, if you get more gas because the cold has less vaporiztaion doesn't that mean it affects the guage because I can fill up more...?

^Yup, cold weather you actually get more gas in the tank because there is less expansion. Your range to empty is calculated by the car based on your avg. mpgxgallons on board.

I live in Quebec and it's f ing cold up here and my gas millage is much better in summer
i'll average 420 miles per tank in summer and 375 miles in winter at average speed of 50mph
but winter tires, cold starts, and preheating the car does not help .... + this weekend it got down to -6 deg.f and now my stinking trany. started to grind in 5 and 6 gear
