I traded an '07 Momte Carlo with a V8 engine. Only 303HP in the V8, but if you have the 2.0T, he may have had your lead. A V6 GC has more stock horse power than the V8 Monte and may have bettered him.

doesn't it also only come with a 4-speed auto and is FWD?

is there any identifiers on the side of a SS Supercharged vs. SS LS4?

I may be wrong, but the Supercharged SS probably had a V6 engine, not a V8. I owned two SS versions: A bright yellow 2002 with the pace car replica package. In 2002, all they had was the V6, 200 HP stock. I think the V8 came out in either '05 or '06. It was still front wheel drive. The second one I had was the last year they were produced, a black '07 with the V8 front wheel drive engine, 303 HP stock. I believe the LS4 engine and the standard V6 were out around 2002, then came the Supercharged SS with the V6, and the V8 followed.

the V8 LS4 came out in 06 or something like that.. wasn't out for very long. I saw another Monte today and it said SS Supercharged on the side so I guess that answers my question, unless there were SS non-supercharged versions.. I'm not a chevy guy, don't know much about them.
