    Default Brake life

If this has been discussed, if someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. But if its a quick answer, I'd prefer if you could please answer the following:

My question is regarding the kind of mileage (or kilometer) life you have seen out of your TRACK model Brembo brakes.

Reason I am asking is I'm about 4,000 miles now and I'm already feeling some amount of wear on the brakes. Was measured at 9/32s the last time i was at the dealership about 200 miles ago.

Is this normal for the OEM pads? And if so, why are they wearing so badly?

NOTE: I do not drive this car very hard at all or slam the brakes at the last moment. I casually drive the car most of the time with the occasional need for outbursts lol. (damn thing is averaging 28mpg right now with the 3.8)

Also, in terms of aftermarket pads, what do you guys recommend?

    Thanks very much.

I bought a set of frixia pads for mine, but OEM brakes have a squeeler in them, they'll let you know when they need replacing.

The front pads too are only half pads until they become worn down. Do the brakes get better when you use the full OEM pad?

I changed out my pads on my brembos after ~19K miles:. the fronts were very very low...
i asked the stealership for a price on the front pads just for fun (I was planning on getting the frixa pads) and the told me it'd be $550 for jus the front pads LMFAO!! the frixa pads are sooo good. everyone I show them to is amazed how hard they grip and resist fade.. and at $74 for a full set of the street pads you can't go wrong.. I'll never buy a different brand of pads as long as I have this car

Alright, I'll research that company. When you say a set for $74? You mean a pair (front or back)? And you have to buy another set for the other sides?

Are these the same brakes you were talking about Snoopy?

    Thanks guys

And $550 bucks...damn...bet ya brake dust is 14K gold.

PM chris@vtengineering and he'll tell you all the details

also you can go on the other gencoupe dot com forum and search for chris@vtengineering... there is a thread started by him and it has all the info on the brake pads, company, and how to order them!

Yeah, those are the same pads that I was talking about, but mine are the non-brembo version. Still waiting for them to show up.

I'm assuming you purchased the Street Versions. Correct Assumption?
