Default Which trim for Gen Coupe?

Hi guys I need your opinions on which trims I should get for my GC.
I currently live in Canada and the base trim 2.0T auto is already a smudge below 26K and the premium is 29K. (I can't drive stick) Although I have a budget of 40K for my first car for grad, I am thinking of just getting the base auto model because, well, it saves me a chunk of money. All I lose is heated leather seats, the premium sound, and sunroof.

The thing is I want to know from the 2.0T base model owners: Do you find your car sufficient for daily driving around?
Also, I want to know from the premium package owners that are the heated seats and sunroof worth the money in your opinion. I know they're a luxury to have and not a need, but the sunroof and premium sound part is very tempting because I nearly always drive with my ipod in the car.

Anyway, I'd love to hear from you guys! =D

If I lived in Canada I would never give up heated seats...but then I am from Florida. And personally I love having a sunroof.

well I live in vancouver so the weather is much better than Toronto. but in a sense, the sunroof is absolutely tempting during summer times and the heated leather seats are....sigh~ especially that we don't have a lot of snow, just plain dry cold days during winter. all that stands in my way is, well, money.

i did the cost summary on hyundai's site. total cost for base auto 2.0T is 31K after tax with rear spoiler. 35K for premium with spoiler after tax. total of 4K difference, holy crap T_T
hopefully the dealer can give me good deals and rebates...

well the car is insanely fun...so if you have to forgo the other options, don't force yourself into a payment that you'll regret. Can always use the saved money for mods

I have a base model, and my wife really wanted the sunroof, issue with it though.. less head room. And I'm almost 5'11" and I feel kinda close to the roof. I wouldn't have minded a sunroof but all in all.. it's something I don't even notice I don't have.
From what I've heard, the premium sound system kinda sucks, I'm sure it's better than the base model.. but I have no complaints. Base models have iPod/USB jacks too, I use my ipod for my music and I have a 16GB flash stick with my audio books.
The heated seats part.. really.. it's only an issue if you have leather. My cloth seats are not uncomfortable even in -40c, they don't get hot in the sunlight and are rather cushy.. the one time I sat in the 380GT, I felt like the seat was a bit tight.

If you get a base model, get your dealership to get you a strut brace from the GT, it's only like $100, and it's a noticeable difference.

Only things I really wish my base had were LSD, OEM HID's and an OEM boost gauge, none of which are available on Premium or Base models.. or at all for that last one.

I am nearly 6 foot too (179cm) and when I test drove the base model, I thought head room was ok at the front. So I guess I can shed 4K off and mod it instead! Thanks guys really appreciate it!

oh and just a word of curiosity, does chrome lower accents go well with white?

I'm 6' 2" with a sunroof...plenty of room for me! I think the chrome is a matter of taste. I like the chrome accents and think with the white they look great. White is a good color choice, too.

Just an opinion but I wouldn't buy a 2.0 in auto. 4 bangers need manuals. If I were u I would go to driving school to learn to drive a manual. Its really easy. I should say its easy if u are driving normal. You can learn the other stuff like heel and toeing etc later.
Then buy yourself a 2.0 track or spec-r. Don't let the manual intimidate u. If u insist on an auto. Just go for the 3.8 base. I think u might not enjoy a 4banger in auto the way u would a auto v6. That's just my .02 cents

oh i see...because of the huge demand for auto-learners in vancouver, there's really no driving schools that offer to teach stick except for gov-run (i think?) driving schools which are overpriced, unreasonable, less than 10h experience on road and with only a mere 20% passing rate. You get all with the cost of just 1K+taxes....special price = =

it's really tempting to get the auto, but learning stick isn't hard since im already competent to drive on my own. did you guys learn manual first or auto first?
my driving instructor told me frankly not to waste money on learning stick from instructors and just sit beside someone that knows how and with practice, it's not a big deal over time

    wat u guys think? =S

I was 17, and my car was in the shop. I stole my brothers corolla with a 5 speed. I stalled it at every light and almost ever right turn. I've had a stick ever since. No matter what I recommend the 2.0T. There's more upside with it long term. Get an auto if thats all you know how to drive
