    Default Winter Driving

Hello People, This is my first Thread. I'm very surprized to find a club already for the Hyundai Coupe. Ok, I live in the wonderful state (HA HA) of NJ and as you all know by now its knee deep in snow. I just bought my 3.8 Track last week and the summer tires that come with it just are not making it I found out the Bridgestone LM25 or the Blizzak LM60 are good to use for snow. However my question is...Can you use the rims that are on the car now for them tires or do you have to get other rims also? Any help would be great. Joe

Im in jersey too and getting a track shortly and im suffering this same problem. I suggest not getting either of those tires. Winter tires are met for places that are snow almost all the time. The second it drys up here in jersey you will tear those tires to shreds. I would look into all seasons.

Also for keeping your rims thats easy just goto like a NTB with your new tires and be like I want these on there. And tell them you want the old ones back... And they will just swap them out. And you can keep the summer tires or sell them.

I have the stock all weather tires on my base 3.8. I decided AGAINST a Track BECAUSE of living in NJ. The Track to me was not sufficient to drive in the snow, especially with the shit tires they give you, and because I have to commute to work 5 days a week and there is no such thing as SNOW DAYS. So... I've been driving through these blizzards in my base model stock 3.8 with the all weather tires. They work excellently when combined with the ESC and common knowledge of how to drive in the snow.

    What she said...
Most around here under 40 don't have a lot of winter driving experience
because winters have been mostly snow free for a long time until now...
just remember, steer into the skid, no brake, and you'll be fine...

I was just going to put them on for a few months then go back to the summer tires that came with the car. Hate to go out and buy a new set of all weather tires and just let the summer tires sit in the garage. Joe

with the 19's putting winter tires on is kind of pointless.. they'll have barely any tread to begin with. I know how you feel about the tires, I had to go out and buy winter tires but we get 5 months of snow here so it's more worth it for me. I suggest some really good all-seasons too.. don't have to let those summers go to waste, use them for track days!

    Army?
Are you admitting that this snow is a Canadian sneak attack???
The only army we need right now down here is on with snow plows...
but as far as getting any satisfaction for this wintry affront,
