I'm guessing you're talking about the A/T?
Shifting issues has been an on going problem with the 6M/T, replaced tranny's and other parts and still no proper fix on the horizon.
I don't know if it was discussed here yet but apparently there is a problem with the gear shift locking up in very cold weather conditions. I know this because it happened to me this past Friday. Apparently it has something to do with moisture getting into the line and freezing up which causes the gear shift to lock up. Hyundai is aware of the problem and created a new kit designed to fix that problem. In my case I had to get the line and entire shift box replaced because mine was stuck in drive but the car recognized it as reverse. So if any of you ever get in your GC on an extremely cold day and notice you can't move your gear shift than you better be prepared to tow your car to the dealership.

yeah it suck that a wonderful car like that get a crappy tranny like our's
Til the redline ;)
When I tested drove the 2.0T M/T I thought the tranny was really nice... And this has to be on the auto since a M/T has no lines to freeze up... A solution to this could just be getting less viscuss Tranny fluid put into the A/T. And considering there only a hand full of people with M/T problems Im thinking its more of a manufacturing or a quality control problem then the Tranny itself...
i'm getting my shifting linkage of something lke that changed by feb 9 of 10...i'll tell you if any improvement

Is this A/T? I drove from NJ to Mass, and while in Mass, drove through 2 snowstorms. Drove through a snow in NJ on Friday night too. No problems yet. I usually let my car warm up a good 10-15 minutes though. I need auto start.
I wasn't aware of transmission/shift problems with M/T. There is way too much traffic for my liking to even deal with driving stick in NYC. I remember one hot summer day when I was driving a friend's VW rabbit and I never got past second gear the entire trip. I just kept going back and forth between 1 and 2. It sucked.
