Thread: Do others turn their noses down to you?

You're going to run into people who will look down on you for owning a hyundai, thats innevitably going to happen. Are you worried about strangers or people you know? People who know you would know you came from a respectable car (s2000) and hopefully would give you the benefit of the doubt that the GC is a pretty good car to have taken its place.

As far as nailing it on the first try...I wouldn't quite say that, if you read enough there are enough minor issues that cumulatively have me wondering about the build quality of this car...but then again the warranty will cover all of that and for the price---you get the performance---you can't have it all...

If I take my GC to work I park in a gated lot with my co-workers.
I would say the average car parked in that lot runs $100K+
Nothing under $60K....... except maybe my GC.
Now, I can't know what anyone may be thinking, but I've never heard a single negative criticism & I have received a few "nice car" comments.

I've actually had quite a few "Luxury" car drivers comment on the looks of the GC, in a good way. Don't think I've had a single person talk down on it...

Well I have the 2.0T, but to people that don't know about the Gen Coupe.. I've gotten more whoa that's a Hyundai? or that's the nicest Hyundai I've seen..
Any negative comments are from my friends that of course would be making fun of my Hyundai..
Most people seem to actually give credit to Hyundai for making a pretty nice looking car and decent performance for the price and not the fact that it's still just a Hyundai.

hyundai have a bad reputation around here because of accent 1998
but hey they are taking there place in good constructor...

great performance just like said before... the quality is not that bad but... warranty my friend... warranty :P

My biggest concern with it is if people do what they do to tibbys to this car. I mean people have done some pretty untasteful stuff to the tibby and actualy theres a few people doing stuff to their GCs that are bad... I just hope its not to the extreme as the tibby tho. Cuz people with Big spoilers, unpainted ungly body kits, neon lights, and huge muffilers just make the car look bad and cheap.

They are just making themselves look bad.. as long as you don't do that to your GC then you'll be ok

I was worried about this too, i have an infiniti q45 and keep it mint, always got compliments about the luxury car...but i definatly get even more from the coupe...i too have the wing emblyms and at every gas station, literally every time i stop someone says wow what is that...i tell em and i always get a wow out of it

Since I got my own Genesis Coupe, I've only had one person ask me about the car. I was at the gas station filling up before work and the guy behind the counter asked me if that was the Genesis. I told him it was and he goes 'I really like that..my wife has a G37 and from what I can see I think I like the Genesis a lot more'.

I definitely smiled my ass off while I walked outta there.
