Most of you are generally correct but my first car was a 1951 Chevy Bel Air Coupe and over the years it was followed in no specific order by Prosche 356 and 911, Jaguar XKE, Austin Healy 3000, MGB and MG Midget, several VW's (Beatles and Carmen Ghia cabrolet)
and an assortment of Ford and Chevrolet Sedans and Pickup trucks all RWD. While it is true that a narrower tire with a taller profile & correct tread pattern is best for SNOW, weight bias and torque were never a problem for me if I had at least an all season tire on the vehicle with the exception of the Porsche 356 whch was so light in the front that it would just ride up ON TOP of the snow and made steering a real challange until I put two 20" sections of railroad track and a couple of bags of sand in the boot.
