    Default Painted Rims

When I first got the coupe i noticed how dirty my rims were almost every day...i literally washed them daily...now it is getting cold out and is a real pain to continue doing this...I was looking at someone's pictures (rwdsnail i think) and loved the way her black rims looked on the car....granted her car is black and mine is silver...i think the brembos and very dark tints would be complimented by the black...I have a 2.0 track edition...and the 19 inch rims arre very nice rims...so i was thinking of painting them until i have the money for new rims...thoughts?

A gunmetal rather then a black might be better for the car color... Also I cant remember who but one of our venders sell pads for the brembo brakes that cause lest brake dust.

I like her wheels as well. She got them Powdercoated. I'm not sure how great painting them would look but you are more than welcome to give it a shot!

Yeah, mine are powdercoated. It's a lot more durable than on regular spray on paint and it a lot less prone to chips from road debris and what not. Basically they magnetize the wheel and spray powdered paint on the wheel. That way it gets into every nook and cranny and upsidedown and whatever. Then they bake it on. When they do that ( at like over 400 degrees I think) the powder melts and forms a protective coating over he wheel. You can powdercoat in virutally any color and even translucent colors on top of other colors. It won't chip like regular paint and the finish is consistent. I highly recommend powdercoating.

How much do you think it would cost to get my rim spokes powder coated black and the "dish" paint matched blue?

Mine are glossy like that normally. And u can powdercoat the wheel and then paint the lip. I was going to paint on a red lip on mine but decided not to. On the stock wheels it's only a centimeter or so of a lip that you can have painted.
