I've never done it but hair dryer should do the trick.
Has anyone done this? I'm guessing hair dryer softening of the adhesive and fishing line will do the trick, but is there a better/easier way?

DON'T DO IT!!!!
Unlike the front and rear badges, the Wing emblem for the steering wheel is just a peel and apply to the "H"...
Not that difficult to take off, but then you find the Wing has nothing to hang on to...
No worries tho, just clip off the eight ties that held the H to the steeriing wheel before you ripped it off, apply your new Wing badge to the H and use some 3M badge and emblem adhesive to reinstall.
Live and learn.
I did remove my H (In front of the dealer, who had no idea how the replacement badges were supposed to work, despite giving them to me).
It's attached by about a dozen posts. Fishing line will not work, but careful prying with a small screwdriver (swiss army knife) did the trick. Be EXTREMELY careful, that's your airbag behind there!
Unfortunately, a few problems become immediately apparent: First, the badge is too large to fit it the opening provided by removing the H. Second, as some of the earlier posts mention, the remaining plastic surrounding the 'H' isn't much to adhere to.
I fixed both these problems at home by taking a pair of tin snips and carefully paring down the edges until it fit (careful not to bend it). The 3M tape will bond to the 'negative H' inside the wheel, and you can get a firm fit. It has a very satisfactory appearance.
I'm not recommending this method; just relating my experience.
However, I did ponder this: What happens when the airbag goes off? Does the badge become metal shrapnel? That might explain why the H is so well attached. And regardless of how you attach a replacement badge, I don't see how you can avoid that scenario. I can only hope it blows upward with the steering wheel flap...

Yeah, it would be nice if they put some pictograph directions in the bag, wouldn't it...save us a lot of time and agro, eh, Impulse?... when I tried to put my wing in after ripping out the H, it bent, because as you so cogently noted the wing in larger than the hole, leaving a crease in the middle...then, i had to carefully remove it and work out the crease using various implements and much cursing, reattach it to the H and reinstall it as described....as far as the "shrapnel" thing is concerned, i wouldn't worry about it...if the airbag deploygs the whole thing is going to blow right into your face anyway and the emblem on the steering wheel is going to be moving at the same velocity, so you won't even notice it, except for the fact that you'll have a cool wing indent on your forehead instead of a drunken H.....akirk18, whether by design or luck you got it right...just slap it on!
Ya i had read somewhere that it was designed to just fit right on top the H. My first thought was that it wouldn't look very good but after i put it it on I thought it looked factory! I would put up some pics if i could...
