Default Genesis Coupe Rear Emblem Install

So I couldn't find a video on the rear emblem install. I heard removing the old one could be done with floss. Is this true? Does the back emblem have the peg extensions like the front one? If not, what holds it on, is it glue?

I don't have a claw for taking off the felt pegs and I don't want to risk breaking one...

    Very easy.

    1) Remove trunk liner
    2) Remove the 2 screws holding the emblem from inside trunk
    3) Push the plastic from the inside where the screws came from and it will pop out

Might want to heat up the emblem in the sun or with a blow dryer 1st so the glue melts and it pushes out easily. You can also use a card or floss here if you cannot pull out with fingers.

Also you don't need a claw, just pull with your fingers (does hurt a bit).

    thanks guys.

so neither of my emblems came with the stick tape on the wing tips... I'll have to see if it looks like it's going to cause scratching

EDIT: I'm having a reallll hard time getting the push pins out of the felt. Even if I pull with all my strength, they hardly come out. I got 4 out this way but can't get any of the others out for the life of me.. I'm using a minicrowbar and a flathead screwdriver.

EDIT 2: Mission complete! For anyone who sees this, just keep prying and be patient. You won't break the pins.

I didn't have any tape on the wing tips either for both of my badges. Put my own on for the rear one.
Did the rear emblem - not too bad - screws were easy, a bit of prying needed for all the sticky under the 'H'. I ended up breaking it - so I guess I can't use it as an 80's inspired necklace (bling, bling!)
Put the new emblem on - looks nice. Going to do the front one soon.

did mine both last week..... didnt know about the blowdryer trick but goo gone got the job done but it took about a half hour... i tried to use fishing line but it just kept snapping so i ended up using my drivers license... and the front to actually get to the screws was a pain so i just cracked my H and used the 3m tape and suck it on there

    Default question

Did anyone feel the need to put the screws back in? They don't reach since the plastic on the wing emblem isn't long enough so I'm thinking about buying some longer ones of the same width. But is the 3M tape strong enough?

The 3M tape alone is more than enough. Mine's been on my car since March and I have not had any problems at all even with Florida's HOTTT summers.

Alright cool. I guess the tape has to set in because when I pulled on the emblem a bit to see if it was strong, I heard the tape coming off. So I just got a towel and pushed it in harder.

One thing you HAVE to make sure of alex is that the surface is clean. Maybe take some isopropyl alchohol to the surface for cleaning etc... The tape should hold up fine. Hell I even used the same 3M tape to apply my Sequence X Spoiler to the trunk of the car and it held fine no problem for months.
