    Default Tint Questions

Guys I've never tinted car windows before, don't have any plans on doing it myself so I got a quote from a guy in Regina who wants $200 to tint my rear quarter windows and back window, he uses a metalic tint that has a lifetime warranty so long as I keep the car. Is that a good deal? He says it'll take him about 3 hours to do the tint, is that too quick?

I want the tint to keep UV and heat from getting to my daughter in the back seat, I use the windows so I don't want it too dark, thinking 50 or 35%, and I'm gonna be getting a night vision backup cam for the unavi so I don't have to worry about it at night.

    Any suggestions?

I got my coupe tinted with 35% (entire car) for $140, which after calling around some seemed to be about the going rate. I'm not sure exactly what kind of tint he used and also I doubt that it has a lifetime warranty (I had to register the tint with the tint manufacturer for the warranty). This is in southern California.

$200 sounds like a fair price but should be a little cheaper if you aren't doing the front driver and passenger side windows. I had all my windows done for $200. 35% on all sides and back window 15% (legal limits for Ontario). Took about 3-4 hours and has life time warranty.

Ok so I'm not getting ripped off. Customizations out here are a little more costly because of the lower demand. Here in sask you can't tint your drivers side, passenger or windshield. Any other windows can be tinted whatever so long as you have side mirrors.

Its usually about $45 per window and $15 for vent windows. Thats what I've found.

I forgot to ask him if he could do my rear in a single piece or if it needed to be done in two.

I'm not even sure how they tint them, do they take out the glass, tint then replace it? or just tint around the trim?
