    Default Simple Car Care

    Hey Guys,

I know everyone hates these questions but just wondering what you guys do to maintain your cars appearance. I currently don't have a garage or shelter for my car so it's always outside but I would still like to keep it clean. I read about claying and saw somethings about waxing but some of it seems over the top for a non-showroom car.

Also, I did try a forum search but didn't find anything useful. Hoping since everyone here is pretty friendly, I can get some helpful tips. Thanks.

I just clayed my car a few weeks ago and it still feels smooth. it doesnt take long either, about the same time to wash your car.

A simple car cover helps a lot too. I live in florida and my first car was red, well the sun did what it wanted to to the clear coat. So if you don't use a wax, a none cleaner wax, a car cover is a must.

I think I watched a vid on how to do that... Is yours a garage queen? Also, don't u have to wax after claying? Thanks!

I used a 'Mothers' clay bar kit, and it kinda makes sense to wax after, but i dont think its necessary.

Yea I think I'll definitely look into a car cover...what do guys think of the Ice wax? From what I've read it's simpler than traditional wax. Not sure if you're supposed to clay before that.

I've had my car since Jan 1st of this year and I haven't waxed her yet. She spends almost everyday outside in the driveway even though we have a garage. With the pollen recently I have had to wash her more often then usual.

With Casey's GC, he's clayed it a few times now. It's amazing to see the difference in texture it makes and the shine as well. He's usually good with that for a month or so before it starts to dull a bit. It doesn't take him long either... In between he does use a quick spray wax. But I would definitely consider a car cover!

Do u wash it yourself or take it to an automatic wash? I've read so many things that I'm not sure if auto is ok or not.

Automatic will never compair to a hand wash and why spend the money? spend time with your car lol. and if yout not sure don't do it. I have that Ice wax its easier to remove than regular wax and seems to last longer too. Just add water to it as you go.

the worst thing about machine wash, location depending, is that it leaves squiggly lines all over your car from those.... thingys (can't think of the proper term sorry) = =
    hand wash works best ;p
