Has anyone thought about getting rid of their doors? I feel like they add a lot of weight and slow down my ingress and egress of the vehicle.

Hey guys. I just got a car scheduled at Vertical Doors Inc. to come in on Dec. 28th. These kits are now available direct bolt on for the coupe through FlyRyde. I'll have video of the install, of the kit in action, as well as tons of pics of the sexy gen coupe with the doors up! So if you had wanted to see what your car would look like with the doors, you'll have all of that in a couple weeks. I'm taking sponsorship inquiries for anyone with a Gen Coupe and a nice bodykit or at least some aftermarket exterior work, so email me. BB@FlyRyde.com

Pics coming soon! These are the best kits available, so I'm so stoked I could help get the Gen some love without needing 10 orders up front. Woot for more hyundai aftermarket support!

I'm deffinately looking forward to seeing the installed photos! I should have some clean exterior mods on the car starting after the new year most likely. I'm considering the VEGA full conversions kit from KoreanAutoImports.com

    ^sweet!

I'm stoked on getting this kit out there to you guys. During the installation, which starts this coming week, I'm going to make sure to get the entire process filmed, edited, and accompanied by a photo install guide. I'll be there during the entire process, so I'll make sure it has everything I'd want if I were buying the kit for my own car (I do actually have their kit on my tiburon).

Holy crap, I just read all the concerns at the beginning of this thread. Let me state a couple things that I know to be fact:

These don't sag. "all brands do it", not mine, and I've had them for 5 years.
"they add tons of weight to the car". The entire box with the hinges in it, weights less than 35 lbs. How many people have subs?

"hacking of wiring" Not one wire is cut, extended, or modified at all. If you use your head, you'd just unclip the wiring harness behind the door panel to give an extra 6 inches of slack to the loom. I didn't use my head the first time I installed a set, and was pissed when I found out you didn't have to. I ended up just getting new wiring harnesses for the doors and doing it right, without any cutting or modding. I just left a couple clips out where the Hyundai had them only for the sake of keeping the wiring nice and tidy, trust me, it was more than enough slack on my Tiburon.

you could probably just get a door wire extension kit if you don't want to fiddle with any of that.

^^ that'd seriously make a 5 minute job take a few hours. Why would you ever extend the wires when you can pop off the door panels, pop out a couple of the little clips, and be done with it? 10 out of 10 times, my advice is NEVER cut or extend wires unless you have no other choice.

I was thinking more like a middle harness, one where the original plugs into it and then it plugs into where ever, like an extension cord. splicing and making the wires longer would be such a waste of time and pain in the ass, not to mention add more chance of a ground fault or fire hazzard.
