    Default Avoid Regina Hyundai

    My review of Regina Hyundai:

    Sales:
While the sales person was really nice, he did not know his product very well, and considering that Hyundai doesn't have that many models to choose from... While I will give him that the Genesis Coupe is a relatively new vehicle, sales usually get sent to classes (or at least I did when I was in sales) to learn new product or facelifts to vehicles. I fine it better to be told "Can I get back to you on that?" than "Oh yeah sure it's got all that" when the answer is really "No".
I may be really critical of sales people since I was one for most of my working career, but I think that just lets me know where the standards should be.
Financing was a horrible mess... absolutely unorganized. Never ever lie on a customers financing forms. They misquoted my buyout on my trade-in as well as how much it was worth, if it wasn't for the fact the guy at the banks was tired and wanted to go home I probably wouldn't have got my car that day. Not only that.. but I live an hour and a half out of Regina and they called telling me that everything was ready, just needed to sign papers.. so I drove there to find out that they fudged everything up.

    Service:
Very Very Poor! I will never ever have them service my vehicle if I can possibly avoid it ever again.
One: Never lie to a customer.
Two: Never tell a customer that they are lieing.

I went in for my Bluetooth update and ECU update, they flat out told me that there has never been ANY update for the Genesis Coupe at ANY time. Yet, why were most people on this forum getting updates? Why did Hyundai have those updates posted in their customer TSB website? Why did I have those TSB's printed out on my desk at home?

When I explained my concerns about the accident I had with the vehicle and the fact that it was being investigated, they flat out told me there was nothing they could do, and I was obviously driving beyond the capabilities of the vehicle. I was doing 35kph around a 90 degree corner from a yield sign... if that's beyond the capabilities of my car I want my money back.

I voiced a concern regarding shift noise and a grinding sound at high RPM's coming from my shift boot, they said it was "Normal turbo noise and nothing to be concerned about". Now I've owned several manuals, and this is my second turbo'd car... this noise is not coming from my turbo, and if it is.. I want a new turbo.

    Parts:
Beyond exceptional. The fellow at the counter was very helpful and found everything I was looking for and made arrangements for requested parts right in front of me. In Canada base 2.0T's don't have strut tower braces, I had one in my Fusion and I noticed a difference so I wanted one for my Coupe. They don't have the aftermarked one yet (Sometime this month apparently) so I asked if he could just order replacement parts for the current ones. No idea what the parts were already on the car he went to the lot personally and made sure he ordered everything I needed to have the brace.
Aftermarket brace cost: appx $250 CND
Just ordering replacement parts: $110 CND

    Overall:
If you need parts or wanna checkout the hot front counter girl swing by and see about the place, but if you're looking to buy or have your car get anything but an oil change, steer clear.
They do wash your car for free if it comes in dirty and it's being serviced, but they take it to an autowash and leave swirly's on your clear coat... now I've got to buff it....

LOL! Excellent review. Eveyone loves "hot front counter girls". I'm sorry they were being so nazi about TSB's but I think that most service departments are lazy. I called about getting mine done this saturday at my local shop and they were like "oh an update? Oh we'll have to look in to that."

I'm dealing with a dealership in Moose Jaw now and the service guy has been pretty cool so far, I went there to meet him and just get a basic feel for if he was an idiot or not. He got the update for the bluetooth the same day I went in there but didn't know about any ECU flashes, called the district supervisor and the district supervisor had no idea what I was talking about. Gave them a copy of the TSB's I printed off and they were like "how do customers know about this stuff before we do? and this is even off our site with our TSB codes!"
