Like I said before... the stock 3.8L Pistons are 10+ :1 because it doesnt have anything forcing air in it can compress it more. But when you are forcing air in you want less because you are forcing more air in so 9:1 would be alot better for this set up. Now what could happen if you choose not to have new pistons you compress to much causing more force on the Piston rod then it can handle this will cause a blown rod. which is the piston literally shooting through your engine block. Now if you kept the stock ones it not 100% it will happen just a better chance. Ive seen far to many people try putting turbos and superchargers on cars without modifying the engine and ive seen almost all of them blow rods. In this case I would trust the professionals that made the supercharger.... if they offer pistons for it get it.

Tuning the LET
with a change in pulley you can lower the poost a bit and you dont need to change pistons.
