    Default air filter replacement

I was checking my air filter to see if it needed to be replaced and when I opened it up I noticed that there seems to be 2 filters stacked. The bottom air filter is the one I have a replacement for (OEM part #28113 2M010), the top filter appears to be fixed into the plastic housing. Is the top one supposed to be replaced too? If so, does anyone know how to remove it and what its part. # is?

What I'm noticing is the bottom filter on mine looks brand new still, but the top filter appears to be dirty. Id expect the bottom (first) filter to be dirty instead, so it seems a bit odd.

The top filter is part of the air filter housing itself and does not have to be replaced. Simply replaced the drop in filter with either an OEM replacement or even a high flow K&N model

I swear by the K&N filters....I love them. Even if you do not perform the cleaning and re-oiling as recommended every 3,000 miles they still outperform the OEM filters by far.

I actually just ordered a new K&N filter for our Tucson! Hopefully some better fuel economy and even a slight performance increase.
