Always use a good synthetic. Handles the extremes better without breaking down, lasts longer and keeps the engine cooler

I'm running a full synthetic at the moment and the car seems to be performing very well.

My service advisor for my previous ride (2000 Grand Prix GTP Daytona) advised that once you switch to synthetic oil you can't go back. I've yet to seek opinion of current dealer.

Interested in all comments. Thanks in advance

Althoug syntec is always a welcome upgrade becuse the less friction you have the better, i would recomend syntec for turbo or supercharger apps. Mainly becuase you go throug RPMS at a more faster rate and since the turbo is lubricated with the engines oil it helps the turbine against wear. Syntec is always a great choice but for a brand new car that is N/A I would not use syntec just yet not because the friction on a brand new N/A engine is almost null (excluding the break in of course) but I would use after the 1st year or so. Well that what i have been thougt anways so do correct me if wrong.

I am not quite sure yet on which is the better choice but I have always heard Snytec is a superior oil that lasts longer and has less breakdown with hard usage. It is true that once you switch to Snytec you can't go back but im not sure why. My other car a 2001 Monte Carlo SS has always used Snytec and it has almost hit 150,000 miles with no major engine troubles. Although the car I had before that lasted over 155,000 before I sold it and it used regular oil. Either way regularly changing your oil when recommended for hard usage is always the best solution. When the time comes I will be sure to ask the head mechanic at my dealership what he recommends espcially since I drive hard lol.
