    Default Squeaky clutch

    Hey everyone,

About 3 weeks ago, I noticed a high-pitched squeak when I release the clutch. It doesn't seem to be affecting the performance any since the car still shifts smoothly. You can't hear it at all when going down the road but when I slow down to parking lot speeds or even depressing and then releasing when parked, I hear it. It's only when I release it.

Is this something I should be worried about? Should I take it into the dealership?

    Thanks guys!

Mine doesn't squeak, even at -50C.. then again mine doesn't shift smoothly either so maybe thats the trick eh? Squeaky clutch means your tranny's good.

My clutch pedal started rattling awhile back, went to the dealership and it turned out I had a defective bushing.. maybe it's something similar, no harm in finding out what they say.

Ya, my only problem in taking it in is that I'm kinda independent so I'd have to drive it there and wait who knows how long. Just wanted to see what you guys said before I went through that.

And just to make sure we're on the same page, its not the pedal.

    Thanks snoop

Didn't really think it was the pedal.. only real world example I had..

I hate waiting at the dealership.. I have to drive an hour to get anything done on my car.. they don't always have a loaner for me.. next time I'll just test drive something for a real long time....

Took a look on the HMA site for you to see what they say and this is it:

    A) Damaged pilot bushing
    B) Improperly installed clutch assembly
    C) Insufficient grease on the sliding surface of the bearing sleeve

hope this helps.. but any of those and you do have to see the dealer

Ya, I know, was just makin sure I didn't word it wrong myself lol.

Whats this business of loaners? Guess it depends on how long they'll take? I took it in last month to check on a vibrating noise I heard. They just took me home then came back to get me.

Thanks for looking that up for me. Seeing that list, I think I'm definitely gonna try to call today and see if I can get something scheduled.
