no drop-in's that i have heard of yet. but FYI any other intake ( short ram/ cold air) won't throw a check engine light. That is unless u do not implement the intake sensor in it.

I dissasembled the intake on my car yesterday to get an idea for some custom work. The V6 intake is like a full 3" or so. The K&N filter I have only has a 2" opening so I think I'll have to go get a new one with a 3" opening to couple on to the intake sensor. As for like a heat shield would using the stock airbox but modifying it work? Or build something new using the stock airbox mounting location?

Hey thanks for linking that filter. It does look like it will fit our airboxes! I'll verify today if I get a chance and if my local parts store has them!

Just got back from Discount Auto. They didn't have the 33-2958 in stock over there. However I browsed their selection of filters and I think that I am going to try and fabricate my own custom intake using one of their universal 3" or 3 1/2" cone filters. K&N has some awesome flow, I've used it on some other cars in the past!

Have you guys used these before with positive results? I had one in my 96' Accord but if there was an improvement it was minimal. I'm hoping that with a car like this there will be a difference but I still read of issues with the MAF sensor getting oiled and now I'm reading about potential damage to turbos. Any thought about this?

Oil on the MAF can be a problem. K&N uses maybe too much of it. What I did with my last car is clean the whole filter removing the oil then when it's dry just oil the outside of it (either replacement or cone).

You won't notice a huge difference but you should get a little more power, little better fuel economy and on forced air more sound from the turbo (last one with the cone CAI). Hondas seem to have a little less benefit with K&N. Comething to do with the almost max compression on some of their engines (that part I hear but can't verify)
